Thus one of the important achievements of the Maharaj in Umberkhind

was how to deal with prisoners of war and how to thoughtfully store the

captured arms and valuables, use the trained manpower of the enemy,

how the king should follow religion, interaction, custom and law while

dealing with women, children, the wounded, unarmed people. A lesson

in ideal treatment was put forth.

Today, the 'Geneva Convention' governs the treatment of surrendered

troops. One realises Maharaj's treatment then and its clauses are similar

to those of the Geneva Convention.
